county road.  Stop light (CR 1240 S) turn left, Log Inn will be 2 miles

It is with deepest sympathy we share the following information .......Letha Smith, 79, of Paducah passed away at 11:12 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church, a retired school bus driver for the McCracken County School System and was a member of Homemakers.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Stephen Smith; one daughter, Debbie Smith Alderson and husband Butch of Lone Oak; one son, Stephen “Sonny” Smith Jr. and wife Lynne of Paducah; four grandchildren, Brian Price, Lori DeVito, Quent Smith and Ross Smith; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Artie Marie Bondurant of South Fulton, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Buster Owens. Her parents were Herman and Jenny Ashley Owens.

Funeral services for Letha Smith will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Louis Brinker officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, in East View Cemetery in Union City, Tenn.

The Smith family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to American Heart Association, Kentucky Region 240, Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222; and to Twelve Oaks Baptist Church, 2110 New Holt Road, Paducah, KY 42001.

The Propeller Club awarded Jerry Wade (Ron Kolb holding plaque), Jack Cunningham, and Jim Husk (Mike Kilgore holding plaque) the Gene Austin Award.

 
Since 1927, The U.S. Propeller Club has supported and promoted the U.S. Merchant Marine and Maritime Industry.  Today, The Propeller Club is the largest grass roots maritime association in the U.S. with 52 club ports as well as 33 overseas.  Additionally, there are over 20 Student Club Ports in the U.S. and overseas.
